The Mission of United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida is to affect positively the quality of life for persons with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities, to meet their multiple needs and those of their families, and to prevent developmental disabilities and minimize their effects.
Programs and Services
From 3 months of age to senior citizen, children and adults partcipate in programs that will help lead an independent and meaningful life. Programs include:
Children - early intervention, early childhood education, homeland, physical, occupational, speech, and music therapy, afterschool and residential programs
Adults - employment skills training, supported employment programs, education, therapy, assistive technology, social, recreational, and residential programs
Families - individual and family support including education and family counseling, respite care
Funding from the following agencies may support programs and services offered by United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida:
The Agency for Persons with Disabilities, State of Florida Agency for Health Care Administration - Medicaid, Florida Department of Health Children's Medical Services, The Children's Trust, Metro Dade Transporation, Miami Dade Public Schools, Florida Department of Transportation, Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County, Children's Services Administraion Division of Broward County Human Services, Children Services Council of Broward County, Inc, and Florida Department of Education.
United Cerebral Palsy of MIami receives funding by the Children's Trust. The Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County.
