Transitional Learning Academy The Transitional Learning Academy provides educational services to students from 14 to 22 years of age, who have severe or moderate to mild developmental disabilities, and do not anticipate achieving a regular High School Diploma. This program affords students the opportunity to maximize their educational and career potential by effectively transitioning from the school system to the community at the time of graduation. Transitional Learning Academy Lisa White 1411 NW 14th Avenue Miami, Florida 33125 305-325-1080 Transitions LIFT LIFT (Learning Independence through Focused Transitions) or Transitions is a new program funded by the Children Services Counsel (CSC) for adolescents ages 16-21 years old with developmental disabilities. This program caters specifically to an unmet need among South Florida's disabled community making the life transition from childhood to adulthood. UCP of Broward County offers teen and young adults with varying disabililites an opportunity to learn the fundemental skills in gaining independence and finding a career path. Although the program focuses primarily on career-building, students learn about other necessary skills such as relationship building, daily living, community involvement and social development. Classroom based learning activities are held after school from 2pm-6pm at two locations in Broward County. The schedule may vary based upon the Broward County School Board schedule.
